Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how HOP Labs Pte. Ltd. ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the HOP application and services ("HOP"). By using HOP, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

By using HOP, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Privacy by design

We do not collect or log your browsing history, traffic content, or destination URLs. Ever.

Our system is designed to collect the minimum metadata necessary to operate the service — and even that is discarded or anonymized quickly.

Data We Collect

We collect minimal data to operate and improve HOP. This may include:

  • Wallet address (for node participation or access management)
  • IP address (temporarily, for anti-abuse and routing)
  • Device metadata (e.g. OS version, crash logs)
  • Feedback you provide during testing or support interactions
  • Usage events (install, open, sign-up completed to improve onboarding and feature design)
  • Analytics IDs; IDFA (iOS), GAID (Android), first‑party PostHog cookie/localStorage ID to influence feature usage analytics

We do not collect:

  • Browsing history
  • Traffic content or destination URLs
  • Personally identifiable information (PII), unless you voluntarily provide it (e.g., via email)

How We Use Data

We use data to:

  • Operate and maintain the HOP network
  • Prevent abuse and enforce the Acceptable Use Policy
  • Improve performance and user experience
  • Communicate with you about product updates or support (if you opt in)
  • Understand which ad or campaign led to an install so we can spend more efficiently

Data Sharing

No third‑party ad cookies are set inside the HOP app. Web downloads links use Appsflyer OneLink Smart Script to attach a pseudonymous click‑ID so we can measure installs later.

  • PostHog (EU Cloud): First‑party analytics cookie / localStorage key; measures clicks, funnels, session replays. To opt out: Disable "Analytics" toggle in Settings or block cookies. IP anonymised; keystrokes masked.
  • Appsflyer (mobile SDK): Collects IDFA/GAID, install referrer, non‑PII in‑app events to attribute ads (e.g., TikTok). To opt out: iOS: “Allow Apps to Request to Track” = Off. Android: Reset GAID / “Opt‑out of Ads Personalisation”.

Cookies, SDKs, Analytics

We do not sell or rent your data. We may share data with:

  • Infrastructure or analytics providers (e.g., cloud servers, error monitoring) under strict confidentiality
  • Law enforcement, only when legally required under Singapore law and only if we have minimal data relevant to the request
  • Service providers to help influence product design and branding efforts

We do not proactively share user data and will assess legal requests for scope and validity. We push back where appropriate.

Storage and Retention

  • Minimal metadata is stored securely in encrypted form
  • Logs and crash reports are retained for no more than 30 days unless needed for abuse investigations
  • Wallet address information is retained only as long as needed for service access or rewards

Your Rights

If you have concerns about your data, contact us at info@hopnetwork.xyz. We will do our best to assist you in accordance with Singapore’s PDPA.

Cookies and Analytics

HOP does not use third-party cookies in-app. Limited telemetry may be collected to improve reliability and performance.

Policy Updates

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or official channels.

Transparency & Trust

We understand that VPN users — especially in restrictive environments — need to trust the tools they use. That’s why:

  • We don’t log your activity
  • We minimize and delete metadata
  • We don’t sell your data. Ever.
  • We assess legal requests critically and push back where possible
  • We aim to introduce transparency reports and community audits as we grow.
